Hangzhou, September 28: Indian Wushu player Roshibina Devi gave a historic moment to India by winning a silver medal in the Asian Games in Naorem 19. But he is not satisfied with this medal. She was hoping to win the gold medal by winning the final match. That’s why she looked disappointed even after winning the silver medal.
Roshibina Devi won a silver medal in the 60 kg women’s Wushu category. However, she was hoping to win the gold medal by winning the final and she had a chance to do so. But Roshibina Devi lost to Chinese player Xu Xiaowei in the final match of this gold medal and the gold medal also slipped from her hands.
Roshibina won the bronze medal in the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta.
Roshibina Devi entered the final by defeating Thi Thu Nguyen of Vietnam 2-0 in her semi-final match. Roshibina made a good start in the final match and fought well. But she could not maintain her initial momentum and ultimately had to face defeat.
Roshibina Devi looked disappointed with this defeat and said, “I made some mistakes which I should not have made.” I will try to improve it. So that I cannot repeat such a mistake in the future. She further said that I have come here with great hopes and have also worked very hard. I hoped that I could make India proud by winning gold for my country. But I could not succeed in doing so. She also expressed hope of winning gold in the next Asian Games and said that I would make necessary improvements in my game and win gold next time.
Roshibina Devi is troubled by the conditions in her home state Manipur. Hundreds of people have lost their lives in the violence between the Kuki and Meitei communities in Manipur. Due to this Roshibina Devi is upset. She lives in fear every day. Because his parents live in Manipur only. Talking to the media regarding their safety, she said, “I am worried and scared about the safety of my parents. I am always worried about him.”
