Beijing, December 13: Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Hanoi on Tuesday by special plane and started his state visit to Vietnam. General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping were invited to visit Vietnam by Vietnamese President Vo Vanthuong and General Secretary of the Vietnamese Communist Party Central Committee Nguyen Futrong. After which President Xi Jinping went to Vietnam.
President Xi Jinping was warmly welcomed at Hanoi’s international airport by Vietnamese leaders including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. In a written speech, President Xi Jinping greeted the Vietnamese Communist Party, government, and people on behalf of the Chinese government, the CPC, and the Chinese people and extended his best wishes to them.
Regarding relations between China and Vietnam, President Xi Jinping said that China and Vietnam have a long history of traditional friendship. China gives priority to relations with Vietnam in neighborhood diplomacy. I will try to enhance the relations between the two countries through this visit. I will endeavor to exchange views and opinions with the Vietnamese leaders on strategic, overall, and other issues in the relations between the two parties and the two countries. At the same time, I will also try to exchange in-depth views on international and regional questions that are related to direction issues and matters of common concern. This will be an important initiative to take our bilateral relations forward in the new era.
When President Xi Jinping was going from the airport to the hotel, a large number of Vietnamese people welcomed his visit by hoisting the flags of both countries on the road.
