Against the backdrop of heightened security threats to shipping vessels in the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Saudi Arabia’s Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Expressing satisfaction with the discussion, Mr. Modi stated, “Had a productive conversation with Brother HRH Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud regarding the future of the Strategic Partnership between India and Saudi Arabia. We exchanged perspectives on the West Asian situation and voiced shared concerns regarding terrorism, violence, and the tragic loss of civilian lives. We have committed to collaborating for peace, security, and stability in the region.”
This dialogue is part of India’s proactive engagement with regional stakeholders amid the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict. A government press release highlighted that both leaders underscored the importance of maintaining maritime security and ensuring the freedom of navigation.
Emphasizing India’s enduring and principled stance on the Israel-Palestine issue, Mr. Modi called for sustained humanitarian aid to assist the affected population.
