Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul has been ruled out of the third Test match against England. KL Rahul could not play the second Test match in Visakhapatnam due to right quadriceps problem. Once again he will have to sit out due to knee pain.
KL Rahul was to join the team on Tuesday, but he was scanned in Bengaluru, which made it completely clear that he was not completely fit.
His absence will be filled by Rahul’s Karnataka teammate Devdutt Padikkal. Devdutt Padikkal is known for his brilliant strokeplay and promising talent. Padikkal is ready to leave his mark on the Test stage.
Devdutt Padikkal has been included in the Test team for the first time with his recent excellent form. In the current Ranji Trophy, Padikkal has scored 556 runs at an average of 92.67 with three centuries.
Devdutt Padikkal scored 151 runs against Tamil Nadu on Friday. Earlier, he scored 105 runs for India A against England Lions.
Devdutt Padikkal made his debut in the domestic season 2018–19. Padikkal has played in 31 first-class matches and scored 2,227 runs at an average of 44.54. In July 2021, he appeared in two T20 Internationals for India against Sri Lanka.
Virat Kohli is already not included in the team due to personal reasons.
