An eliminator match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals was played in Ahmedabad, in which Rajasthan Royals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by four wickets. Whereas, Qualifier 1 match was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad, in which KKR won by 8 wickets and reached the final.
The two teams had a great encounter in the league stage, with Hyderabad winning by one run over Rajasthan Royals.
Rajasthan team’s batting and bowling is its strength. Sanju Samson, Yashaswi Jaiswal, Rian Parag, Shimran Hetmyer played brilliant innings to help the team win. On the other hand, Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal and R Ashwin performed brilliantly in bowling. If we talk about the weakness of the team, then it is the form of the team, which once goes bad, it takes time to recover.
Hyderabad’s strength lies in its batting. Hyderabad made the highest score in IPL history on the strength of their batting. Hyderabad also set a record by scoring 125 runs in the Powerplay. Hyderabad have scored more than 250 more than 3 times this season. Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Adam Markram have batted brilliantly for Hyderabad. If we talk about the weakness of the team then Hyderabad’s weakness is the failure of its top order.
A total of 19 matches have been played between the two teams so far, out of which Rajasthan have won 9 matches and Hyderabad have won 10 matches.
Rajasthan have faced Hyderabad once before in the playoffs in the eliminator match of IPL 2013, where Rajasthan defeated Hyderabad by four wickets.
