On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Operation Blue Star in Amritsar, a tribute meeting is being organized by the Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee on Thursday. This program is organized to pay tribute to the Sikhs killed in the operation.
Many dignitaries from the Sikh community have been invited to this tribute meeting. Some separatist elements are likely to raise objectionable slogans on this occasion. Hence the entire Amritsar has been called to remain closed during the obituary.
A call to keep Amritsar closed has been made by the warm-hearted organization Dal Khalsa. An attempt has been made to alert people to keep Amritsar city closed by putting up posters at many places. This bandh will not have any effect on other emergency facilities including medical, these facilities will be provided to the people. Care will be taken that there is no problem for the sick and other needy.
After the victory of Amritpal Singh in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, it is expected that thousands of Sikh youth will reach Shri Akal Takht Sahib. A large number of security forces have been deployed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee to ensure that no untoward situation arises on this occasion and no mischievous elements can fulfill their nefarious intentions on this occasion.
SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami, Chief Sevadar Bhai Harnam Singh Khalsa of Damdami Taksal, former MP and Shiad Amritsar President Simranjit Singh Mann etc. are participating in the program on this special occasion.
MP from Faridkot Sarabjit Singh Khalsa arrived on the anniversary of Operation Blue Star and said, today he has arrived to pay homage to his martyrs. Panthaks in Parliament will raise issues such as the demand to impose Section 302 of the Act on desecration of Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji and the demand to end drug addiction.
When he was asked about joining NDA or India alliance, he said that many proposals are being sent to him, but we will not go with those who attack Shri Harmandir Sahib. Any further decision to be taken will be taken in consultation with the association of Faridkot.
