New York, July 30 (UITV)- The Quad Leaders’ Summit is going to be held in India later this year, which has been welcomed by the Quad foreign ministers. US President Joe Biden may also come to India to attend this conference.
After the meeting in Tokyo on Monday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa welcomed the holding of the Quad summit in India in a joint statement.
This year India is hosting the Quad Leaders’ Summit. Earlier this summit was expected to be held in January, but due to US President Joe Biden’s inability to attend it, this summit was not held in January.
Last week, White House National Security Spokesperson Advisor John Kirby confirmed that US President Joe Biden will attend the summit to be held in India.
He said that we are committed to holding the Quad Leader Summit this year. But, no date has been fixed in the calendar for this yet.
The summit will be hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will participate in this summit. The time and place of the last summit in 2023 was also disrupted due to US President Joe Biden.
According to the rotation, it was to be held in Australia, but at the last moment Biden canceled it citing domestic compulsions. It was later transferred to Hiroshima.
This month US President Joe Biden announced that he was withdrawing from the upcoming presidential election. President Joe Biden visited India to attend the G20 summit in September last year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the G20 summit held in September last year.
