When the BJP termed this murder case as a case of ‘love jihad’, this murder took a political turn and strict action is being demanded against history-sheeter Sheikh.
Leader of Opposition of Shiv Sena (UBT) in Legislative Council Ambadas Danve met Yashashree Shinde’s family and assured the victim’s family of getting justice for their daughter and said that he will support them.
Ambadass Danve said that Shiv Sena (UBT) has assured support to the victim’s family. We urge the government to trace the accused and give him the harshest punishment.

Yashashree Shinde left her house in Belapur on the evening of July 25 to meet a friend and when she did not return home the next day, her family filed a missing report.
Yashashree’s body was found in a mutilated condition near Uran station two days later. There were many injury marks and knife wounds on her body. Dawood M. Sheikh, a driver by profession, was accused by the girl’s family.
Police confirmed Sheikh’s previous criminal record, which includes a molestation complaint by the deceased girl in 2019 and offences under the POCSO Act. He was out on bail and was reported to have fled to Karnataka.
On the rising incidents of crimes against women in Navi Mumbai, Ambadas Danve said that recently 30-year-old Akshata Mhatre was allegedly gang-raped by three temple employees in Koparkhairane. Her body was dumped in a deep ditch on July 9.
