New York, November 13 (UITV) – America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has recently appointed two prominent industrialists Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswami for a new and unique government department, Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The job of these two industrialists will be to advise the government. This department will focus on administrative reforms of the US government, reduction in wasteful expenditure and restructuring of rules. The aim of this new initiative is to make the US government more transparent and effective.
Announcing these appointments, Trump said that DOGE could “possibly become the Manhattan Project of our time”. The Manhattan Project, as is known in history, was a highly confidential and time-bound plan to manufacture nuclear weapons by the US during World War II. In this context, Trump has expressed confidence in the capabilities of Musk and Ramaswami, believing that fundamental improvements in the functioning of the US government will be possible under their leadership.
Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, is already renowned for his innovative vision and leadership in various regional and global industries. He heads companies such as Tesla, SpaceX and X (formerly Twitter). Musk expressed enthusiasm about his potential contribution to DOGE, saying that through this department he aims to cut at least $2 trillion in government spending. Musk claims that his initiative will accelerate the pace of reform in the US government and eliminate any wasteful spending or administrative complexities. He said, “All actions of DOGE will be posted online to ensure maximum transparency.” At the same time, Vivek Ramaswami, an Indian-American industrialist and founder of a pharmaceutical company, will serve as Musk’s partner in this new initiative. Ramaswami had earlier contested for the presidency in the Republican Party, but later he supported Trump. Together with them, Musk and Ramaswami have pledged to reduce waste in the US administration and reorganize government structures.
However, no official information has been given so far about the structure and functioning of the department. It is also not clear whether the DOGE will be headed at the cabinet level and whether it will be approved by the Senate. Trump also said that through this department he hopes that not only government expenses will be cut, but important steps will also be taken towards restructuring federal agencies and reducing bureaucracy.
