New Delhi, November 20 (UITV)- Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and party leader Rahul Gandhi have appealed to the public to vote in large numbers by posting on their social media handles X amid the voting in the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Both the leaders described voting as the great festival of democracy and called it a symbol of the rights and responsibilities of the people.
Addressing the voters of Maharashtra and Jharkhand, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that this election is important for the protection of the rights of the people, social justice and the self-respect of the state. He reminded the voters of Maharashtra that this state is based on the ideology of Shivaji, Shahu, Phule and Ambedkar and it needs to be protected from opportunistic politics and policies that benefit the capitalists.
“It is the responsibility of all of us to preserve the pride, prosperity and decades of development of Maharashtra. The politics of money power and muscle power is hurting the self-respect of Maharashtra. Before casting their vote on the EVM, voters must think that their one vote will affect the future of the state.”
Referring to Jharkhand, he said that the voters there should vote for public welfare, water, forest, land and protection of tribal civilization. He emphasized that the people who voted in favor of social justice in the first phase of voting in Jharkhand should continue in this phase as well.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi appealed to the voters of Maharashtra to vote to protect the self-respect and constitution of the state. He said, “Your every vote to the Mahavikas Aghadi will stop the theft of jobs and projects in the state. It will give farmers the right price for their crops and will make your life prosperous through five guarantees.”
Referring to the guarantees and public welfare policies of the Mahavikas Aghadi government, Rahul Gandhi said that this alliance is committed to protecting the interests of the people. He appealed to the youth especially to vote and inspire others to vote.
Today, on 20 November, voting is being held for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra and 38 assembly seats in Jharkhand. Long queues at polling booths and enthusiasm of people show that people are participating in this process with great enthusiasm.
The results of these elections will be declared on 23 November. On this day it will be decided who will form the government in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
Elections are the foundation of democracy and the main objective of the appeal of Congress leaders is to encourage more and more people to exercise their right. Every single vote of the public will not only secure their rights but will also shape the future of the state.
