New Delhi, December 17 (UITV)- A new picture of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has surfaced, in which she has arrived during the winter session of Parliament with a handbag on which was written, “Stand with the Hindus and Christians of Bangladesh.” This bag has a fist signifying unity and a dove symbolizing peace. Priyanka Gandhi took this bag to Parliament to express her concern and support for the atrocities being committed against the Hindu and Christian communities in Bangladesh.
Priyanka Gandhi on Monday raised the issue of atrocities in Bangladesh in the Lok Sabha and demanded the central government to intervene. She said during the Zero Hour, “The government should raise its voice on the atrocities being committed against Hindus, Christians and minorities in Bangladesh. The government should talk to the Bangladesh government on this issue and provide full assistance to the victims there.” Priyanka had urged the Bangladesh government to take immediate action on this issue.
Priyanka Gandhi reaching Parliament with this bag was not a new step. Even before this, she has adopted the method of giving a message through her bag. A day earlier, i.e. on Monday, Priyanka Gandhi had reached Parliament with a special bag, which had “Palestine” written on it. The white dove and watermelon, a symbol of peace, were also made on this bag, which showed support for Palestine. Priyanka Gandhi expressed her political ideology through this bag and clearly gave the message that she stands in favor of Palestine.
This move of Priyanka Gandhi became a topic of discussion in many ways. She resorted to the bag to express her support in this way, which displays her ideology in a strong form. However, she also had to face criticism on this. Opposition leaders and some media reports had raised questions about Priyanka’s move. Still, it was a clear message from Priyanka Gandhi that she is in favor of Palestine and she also appealed to the Government of India to stand with Palestine.
Priyanka Gandhi has raised her voice in support of Palestine earlier as well. This was not the first time she clarified her position on the Palestine issue. Even before this, she has spoken in favor of Palestine many times and also appealed to the Indian government to further strengthen its support for Palestine. This clear and committed stand of Priyanka Gandhi reflects her political ideology.
At the same time, after Priyanka Gandhi’s statement against the atrocities on Hindus and Christians in Bangladesh, opposition MPs also protested in the Parliament premises. Opposition leaders raised the issue and demanded the central government to intervene. During the protest, the opposition MPs raised slogans and appealed to the Indian government to take action against the atrocities in Bangladesh.
Priyanka Gandhi has always given her clear opinion on such issues and the message given through her bag showed that she also shows her political activism on international issues. Such a move in Parliament makes it clear that Priyanka Gandhi does not shy away from expressing her ideology openly, whether it is in support of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh or in favor of Palestine.
Priyanka Gandhi’s stance and her message on such issues indicate that she wants to play an active role not only in national but also in international politics.
