Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has provided an official statement to the Mumbai Police regarding the January 16 incident at his Bandra residence. According to reports, Khan and his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, were awakened by a commotion from their son Jeh’s room around 2:30 AM. Upon investigating, Khan encountered an intruder and attempted to apprehend him. During the struggle, the assailant stabbed Khan multiple times on his back, neck, and hands. Despite his injuries, Khan tried to restrain the attacker, but the intruder managed to escape.
Following the attack, Khan was promptly taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove a knife lodged near his spine. He has since been discharged and is recovering.
The Mumbai Police have arrested Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, identified as the primary suspect through CCTV footage. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the intrusion and any possible involvement of domestic staff.
