Selena Gomez has expressed that returning to music may be challenging after her recent acting experiences. At the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, she discussed her role in the musical crime film “Emilia Pérez,” stating, “I think film and art-making and being around such incredible, talented people that have done nothing but uplift me along the way. It’s going to be very hard for me to ever go back to music after this.”
Gomez emphasized her passion for acting, noting that it has “always been” her “first love,” while describing music as a hobby that “went out of control.” She conveyed her excitement about storytelling and exploring new ventures in the film and TV industry.
Despite her success in music, including a No. 1 hit with “Lose You to Love Me” from her 2020 album ‘Rare’, Gomez feels vulnerable in the music space and is not ready to fully re-engage with it. She acknowledges music as an integral part of who she is but currently prioritizes her acting career.
