Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar spoke openly on the relations between India and Pakistan at a book release event held in Delhi. Here he has also given a blunt answer to the neighboring country Pakistan and said that the relations between India and Pakistan are not hidden from anyone. Diplomatic talks between the two countries have almost stopped for ten years. He said that the era of uninterrupted dialogue with Pakistan is over.
Talking about India’s foreign policy, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar mentioned Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and many other neighbors. He said that neighbors are a problem for every country in the world. If the whole world is looked at carefully, there is no country that does not have problems with its neighboring country. Every country will definitely have some problems with its neighbor.
He further said that all work has consequences and if we talk about Jammu and Kashmir, Article 370 has been removed from Kashmir. So the issue today is what kind of relations we can consider with Pakistan.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar clearly said, ‘The phase of dialogue with Pakistan is over, we will not be passive, we will respond to the response’. Whether events go in a positive direction or a negative direction, we will react in any way.
According to the Foreign Ministry office, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting is scheduled to be held in Islamabad in October, for which Pakistan has officially invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid tense relations between the two neighboring countries.
Speaking on Afghanistan at the book release ceremony, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said that the relations between the people are strong at the social level. This is a certain goodwill for India. After reviewing the Afghan policy, we are very clear about our interests. We must understand that Afghanistan with the presence of America is very different than Afghanistan without the presence of America.
Regarding Maldives, the External Affairs Minister said that there have been ups and downs in our approach and relations towards Male. There is a lack of a certain stability, uniformity here. India has invested a lot in this relationship and our efforts have been recognized by Maldives. There is a recognition in Maldives that this relationship is a stabilizing force.
Referring to Bangladesh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that our relations with Bangladesh have been ups and downs. We now have to deal with the new government of Bangladesh.
