Flight number QR017, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, took off safely as scheduled shortly before 1pm Dublin time (12 GMT) on Sunday, Dublin Airport said.
The plane reportedly encountered turbulence while flying over Turkey, injuring 12 people. The injured include six passengers and six crew members. Emergency services including airport police, fire and rescue departments assisted the aircraft on landing. The airport has confirmed that 8 passengers have been taken to hospital. Some passengers and crew members suffered minor injuries, Qatar Airways said. Qatar Airways said the matter is the subject of an internal investigation. Ireland’s National Ambulance Service said it had received an earlier alert to the airport.
