Indian-American Tara Srikrishnan has announced to contest the California State Assembly elections as the Democratic Party candidate. She will run in District 26, which includes Santa Clara County in the south of the San Francisco Bay Area (including the cities of Sunnyvale, Cupertino and Santa Clara) and north and west San Jose.
Since 2021, Indian-American community leader Tara Srikrishnan has been serving on the Santa Clara County Board of Education. The county has 31 school districts under its jurisdiction and serves a total of 270,000 students. Its budget is 30 crore dollars.
Tara Srikrishnan was a piano teacher at the Cupertino Academy of Music. In her election campaign statement she said she wanted to address issues like affordable housing, education, climate change, safe communities, etc.
In his statement he said, “There are many challenges before our citizens and the most important thing for me is to accept those challenges. Housing affordability, traffic congestion, climate change and the need for a stronger education system. It is my goal to address these challenges by efficiently and effectively spending whatever dollars we receive. That is why I am joining the race for provincial assembly. ,
“I know what it takes to strengthen our education system and make California fiscally responsible,” he said. This will provide career opportunities to children in the near future.”
Tara Srikrishnan describes herself as the perfect choice for District 26. Because they have professional experience at all levels of local government – school district, city, county and state.
“I wrote and passed the law,” he said on his campaign website. Which modernized our schools, developed housing for the homeless, expanded job training and apprenticeship programs, and curbed youth drug abuse. ,
Giving credit to her immigrant parents, Tara Srikrishnan said, “My parents taught me the value of education and also taught me to give back to my society. Therefore, I have got inspiration for public service from my parents.
Tara Srikrishnan graduated from Mills College. Mills College is a women’s college, located on the west coast. After graduation, Tara Srikrishnan began working on grassroots campaigns as a community and political organizer and served on several local non-profit boards.
Tara Srikrishnan co-founded Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action (SVYCA), providing hundreds of students with impactful education in Santa Clara County. Empowered students through policy initiatives to tackle climate change.
Tara Srikrishnan has drafted and passed many laws. He has also served in the state legislature and on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors as a top aide and advisor to State Senator Dave Cortez.
