Goa, November 20: The 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is scheduled to begin on November 20 at the Syama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Goa. The festival will be inaugurated by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur and will begin with the screening of the British film ‘Catching Dust’, which tells the story of a wife who wants to leave her criminal husband.
IFFI 2023 will showcase 19 award-winning films from various international festivals at IFFI Kaleidoscope. The ‘International segment’ will include 198 films, including 13 world premieres, 18 international premieres, 62 Asia premieres and 89 India premieres. The ‘Indian Panorama’ section will present 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films from India, with Malayalam film ‘Attam’ and Manipuri language film ‘Andro Dreams’ as the opening films.

Renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur will lead the jury for the 54th IFFI, along with a panel of Spanish cinematographer Jose Luis Alcaine and producers Jérôme Paillard, Catherine Dussart and Helen Leak. Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani will head the five-member jury for the Best Web Series (OTT) category.
The star-studded inauguration ceremony will see performances by Hollywood actor Catherine Zeta-Jones and Bollywood celebrities AR Rahman, Vidya Balan, Karan Johar and Sara Ali Khan along with Shahid Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Nushrat Bharucha and others. The closing ceremony on November 28 will include performances by Ayushmann Khurrana and composer Amit Trivedi.
