Oct 05 – Singer Arijit Singh was recently seen at Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area, signaling the end of their 9-year-long feud. Arijit was spotted in a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), wearing a beige-colored t-shirt.
A video of the encounter was shared by one of Salman’s fans on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The rift between the singer and the actor began almost a decade ago at an award function hosted by Salman Khan. Arijit Singh had won the Best Playback Singer award for his outstanding work in the ‘Aashiqui 2’ album. However, the award announcement occurred during the early hours, which is common in Bollywood award ceremonies.
Having fallen asleep, Arijit arrived on stage late, prompting Salman to mock him. Arijit responded casually, saying, “Sir, aap log itna late kar dete hain” (Sir, you people delay things so much). This did not sit well with Salman Khan, leading to a strained relationship between the two.
Arijit Singh repeatedly apologized to Salman via text messages and lost two film opportunities as a result. He was denied a role in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan,’ and his version of ‘Jag Ghoomeya’ in ‘Sultan’ was replaced by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
In 2016, Arijit publicly apologized to Salman on Facebook in an attempt to mend their relationship. However, he later removed the post and has remained silent on the matter ever since.
Remarkably, Arijit Singh’s career in the Hindi film industry did not suffer despite his strained relationship with Salman Khan.
Arijit’s recent visit to Salman’s house suggests that the two have finally put their feud behind them after nine years. There is speculation that they may collaborate on a project, possibly facilitated by music composer Pritam Chakraborty. Pritam, who has been Arijit’s mentor for nearly two decades, is composing the music for Salman’s upcoming film ‘Tiger 3.’
