Indian actress Deepika Padukone handed over the Best Film award to Jonathan Glazer for ‘The Zone of Interest’ at the BAFTA Awards.
Actress Deepika Padukone attended the event wearing a silver shimmery sequined saree and matching blouse designed by famous fashion designer Sabyasachi. The actress was looking very beautiful in Sabyasachi’s designed outfit.
Jonathan Glazer’s ‘The Zone of Interest’ was competing with films like ‘Anatomy of a Fall’, ’20 Days in Mariupol’, ‘Society of the Snow’ and ‘Past Lives’.
This was not the first international award ceremony for Indian actress Deepika Padukone.
Earlier, she had also attended the Oscars last year. The actress did a live performance on the song ‘Natu Natu’ from ‘RRR’. The song ‘Natu Natu’ from ‘RRR’ won the Oscar award in the Best Original Song category.
Jonathan Glazer’s ‘The Zone of Interest’ is a UK-Polish historical drama about the Auschwitz concentration camp.
The film is based on the 2014 novel by Martin Amis.
The first prize of the BAFTA Awards night was won by Justin Tritt and his partner Arthur Harari for French courtroom drama ‘Anatomy of a Fall’.
It has also been nominated in several other categories, such as Best Actress for Sandra Huller and the biggest one – Best Film, the BBC reports.
The 77th British Academy Film Awards ceremony was held at the Royal Festival Hall in London, featuring Hollywood stars and dignitaries from the UK film fraternity.
‘Oppenheimer’ leads the nominations. The American physicist has been described as the ‘Father of the Atomic Bomb’ for 13 categories. The nominations also include ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, ‘Barbie’, ‘The Zone of Interest’.
