Actor Lalit Manchanda, known for his roles in television series such as Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Crime Patrol, and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, was found dead at his residence in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on April 21, 2025. He was 36 years old. Authorities suspect suicide as the cause of death, citing mental stress and financial difficulties as contributing factors.
Manchanda had recently returned to Meerut from Mumbai, where he had spent over a decade working in the entertainment industry. He was reportedly facing financial challenges and had been experiencing depression. At the time of his death, he was working on a web series project.
The Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) expressed condolences on social media, acknowledging Manchanda’s contributions to the industry.
Manchanda is survived by his wife, Taru Manchanda, and their two children.
