She praised the performances, especially highlighting Vikrant Massey’s spectacular acting, Medha Shankr’s portrayal of the heart and soul of Manoj’s journey, and Anant V Joshi’s outstanding contribution. Alia expressed being moved, inspired, and full of love after watching the film.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s “12th Fail,” based on the life of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, with Vikrant Massey in the lead role, has garnered acclaim from various celebrities. Kangana Ranaut, Katrina Kaif, Rohit Shetty, and others have commended the film. Katrina Kaif mentioned in an interview that 2023 has been a great year for films, citing “12th Fail” as an example of a small, intimate film finding success based on its interesting story.

The film, which premiered on OTT after its theatrical release in October 2023, has been sent as an independent nomination to the Oscars 2024.
