New Delhi, October 12: Thalapathy Victory’s much-awaited action-thriller, ‘Leo’ is about to arrive, creating excitement among fans and critics alike. However, before its release, the film came under fire from Tamil actors over the use of the word epithet. This Florida language was initially included in Telecom but was later publicly muted.
Telecom, among all the other nominees, had spectacular visuals, featuring top-level quality, impressive VFX, shocking stunts, powerful acting performances, and intense action sequences. It received immense appreciation from fans and film lovers. However, the inclusion of an expletive in a monologue given by Thalapathy Vijay led to final approval as a section of the audience felt that this choice made ‘Leo’ unsuitable for young audiences.
Schaller noted that the film had already received an ‘A’ rating from the Central Film Commission, stating that it was written as “not suitable for children”.

After reviewing the cut, the CBFC made some minor edits to the film. Although these edits do not make any significant changes to the content of the film, they have prompted the board to consider a U/A certificate for ‘Leo’. Among these labels, Telecom kept its ‘A’ certificate certification, and some producers decided to continue broadcasting the “Uncensored” version.
Director Lokesh Kangraj had previously mentioned on social media that the film would be a true representation of his original vision, called the “Director’s Cut”, adding that the theatrical version would be more in line with his intentions.
‘Leo’ Telecom, released on October 5, received wide appreciation after ending the abuse controversy. This action-packed film features many star actors including Vijay, Trisha Krishnan, Sanjay Dutt, Surya, and Arjun Sarja. With a musical score by Anirudh Ravichandran, who recently achieved success with ‘Jawaan’, ‘Leo’ is set to release on October 19, 2023, in Superstar.
