The upcoming 74th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival begins on February 15 and will conclude on February 25. In this film festival, the world premiere of acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee’s film ‘The Fable’ will be held in the category of ‘Encounters’. Ram Reddy has directed this film.
The film ‘The Fable’ has been screened with an evening premiere on the opening day of the film festival. The film also includes Priyanka Bose, Deepak Dobriyal, Tilottama Shome, child artist Awan Pookot, debutant Hiral Sidhu etc.
On joining the cast of ‘The Fable’, actor Manoj Bajpayee said that joining this film has been a remarkable experience. This film is directed by Ram Reddy, who has a creative mind. ‘The Fable’ is the second initiative of director Ram Reddy, before this his film ‘Tithi’ had also won many awards. The film ‘The Fable’ directed by Rama Reddy is an American-Indian co-production.

The film ‘The Fable’ is the only Indian film being presented at the Berlin International Film Festival. Only the second Indian film to debut at the Berlin International Film Festival in the last 30 years. The film ‘The Fable’ has been supported by veteran producer Sanmeem Park. Sunmim Park is the creator of the global Hollywood hit ‘The Others’, starring Nicole Kidman.
Director Rama Reddy’s first film was ‘Tithi’. The film proved to be a commercial and critical success. The film ‘Tithi’ ran in theaters for almost 100 days. The film won over 20 international awards and also acquired worldwide rights with Netflix.
‘The Shepherdess and the Seven Songs’ was the last Indian film to be presented in the ‘Encounters’ section in 2020. There has not been an Indian film in the main competition since ‘Shelter of the Wings’. ‘Shelter of the Wings’ was directed by late Buddhadeb Dasgupta in 1994.
