Pan-Indian superstar Yash has officially commenced filming for Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated epic, Ramayana, portraying the formidable role of Ravana. Before beginning the shoot, Yash visited the sacred Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain to seek blessings—a tradition he follows at the start of every major project .
The current schedule focuses on Yash’s solo sequences, including grand war scenes, with filming taking place in Mumbai . Yash is also co-producing the film under his banner, Monster Mind Creations, in collaboration with Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios . The film features an ensemble cast: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, who is expected to join the shoot in June 2025 .
Ramayana is being envisioned as a two-part franchise, with the first installment slated for release during Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in Diwali 2027.
