Los Angeles, December 23: In the first look of the upcoming film ‘Road House’, Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal is depicted as a muscular man in an underground fighting ring. The film is a remake of the 1989 action film of the same name, which originally starred Patrick Swayze. Gyllenhaal’s character, an ex-UFC fighter, faces off against a group of opponents in a dimly lit parking lot, and demonstrates agile mixed martial arts skills.
Directed by Doug Liman, the ‘Road House’ remake is set in Florida and co-stars Daniela Melchior, Billy Magnussen and UFC star Conor McGregor. The original film revolves around a security guard who protects a roadside bar in Missouri from a malicious local businessman.
The first look was revealed as part of the sizzle reel of Prime Video’s upcoming slate. The reel also includes footage from other anticipated projects, such as Ricky Stanicki, a fantasy-comedy directed by Peter Farrelly and starring Zac Efron and John Cena. Additionally, highlights from Jennifer Lopez’s musical ‘This Is Me…Now: The Film’, Camila Mendes-starrer rom-com ‘Upgraded’ and Anne Hathaway-starrer ‘The Idea of You’ were shown in the sizzle reel.
