Aug 14 – Rajinikanth paid a visit to Uttarakhand’s Badrinath Temple to commemorate the enormous success of his current film, ‘Jailer,’ which has surpassed the Rs 200 crore mark in box office revenues.
A video that went popular on X (previously known as Twitter) shows the Tamil singer embracing followers, fans, police officers and pandits while wearing a simple blue jumper, demonstrating his humble and modest attitude.
The actor spent more than 30 minutes within the temple complex, taking part in the Vishnu Sahastranam rite.
Rajinikanth is well-known for his extremely spiritual inclination, and he frequently visits great temples in India, such as Somnath, Badrinath, and Brihadesvara.
Fans, priests, and police officers were both humbled and honoured to see Rajinikanth, who was also having a good time, casually talking to people and offering his ‘namaskaram’ to the pandits.
After praying inside the temple, the priests presented him with a garland of tulsi leaves and some prasad, which he gratefully accepted. Following that, he attended the evening ceremonies and sought the blessings of the temple’s head priest.
‘Jailer,’ directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has been a major success, generating Rs 100 crore in just two days, beyond all expectations. So far, the picture has earned more than Rs 200 crore, with a lifetime value of more than Rs 500-600 crore.
The film was a smash hit in South India, where it made the majority of its money. It’s also doing well in Hindi markets like Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat, and Punjab.
Even on a global scale, the film has done exceptionally well, collecting large sums and receiving favourable reviews in the United States, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
‘Jailer’ also represents a significant collaboration, since Rajinikanth collaborated for the first time with renowned Malayalam actor Mohanlal, as well as Bollywood icon Jackie Shroff, which added to the excitement.
