Renowned Tollywood actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna has been honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award for his significant contributions to Indian cinema.
Balakrishna, affectionately known as “Balayya” by his fans, began his acting journey at the age of 14. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he has appeared in over 100 films, establishing himself as a stalwart in the Telugu film industry.
Upon receiving the award, Balakrishna expressed his gratitude, stating, “I sincerely thank the Government of India for announcing the Padma Bhushan award to me. I am deeply moved.”
The announcement has been met with widespread acclaim from the film fraternity. Director SS Rajamouli lauded both Balakrishna and fellow actor Ajith Kumar for their honors, highlighting their dedication to the arts.
Peers from the industry, including Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh Daggubati, and Jr NTR, have also extended their congratulations, celebrating Balakrishna’s enduring impact on cinema and his public service.
