Beijing, November 4: Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a letter to the Fifth China-US Friendly Cities General Assembly on November 3. Through this letter, while explaining the relations between China and America, he said that the people of both countries are the basis of China-America relations. The source of strength of the relations between China and America is people-friendship.
Regarding deepening the people-to-people friendship between China and America and achieving mutual benefit and common win-win, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that sister provinces, states, and sister cities are important means for this.
The first pair of sister cities was established in the year 1979. Since then, both countries have established 285 pairs of sister provinces, states, and sister cities. Sister provinces, states, and sister cities of both countries have achieved great achievements through close cooperation in more than 40 years. Due to this, the people of both countries are benefiting.
Emphasizing the China-US Friendly Cities General Assembly, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the China-US Friendly Cities General Assembly is an important mechanism for local exchanges between China and the United States. It is hoped that the various parties involved in this General Assembly will come together and play an important role in promoting the stable and healthy development of China-US relations. This will open the way for the welfare of the people of both countries and they will benefit.
The fifth China-US Friendly Cities General Assembly was held in Sucho City in eastern China. Its main theme is to share public welfare by building a green city together.
