New York, November 12 (UITV) – America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has handed over the responsibility of reorganizing the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to his key supporter Lee Zeldin. Trump had promised during the election campaign that he would end the strict rules of the EPA after winning the election.
In his statement on the media platform Truth Social, Trump said that Zeldin will take fair and quick decisions as the administrator of the EPA. The decisions taken by him will be in the direction of strengthening American businesses. His aim is to promote American industries and balance the care of the environment.
He further said that Lee Zeldin will set new standards on environmental review and maintenance to help America develop in a healthy and systematic way.
Zeldin wrote on the social media platform X, “We will re-establish American dominance in the energy sector, bring back American jobs and revive the auto industry.” He also said that we will develop while protecting clean air and water. His goal is also to make America a global leader in AI (Artificial Intelligence).
The appointment comes as the UN Climate Change Conference is underway in Baku, Azerbaijan, where global efforts to reduce global warming and greenhouse gas emissions are being discussed. Trump has again threatened to pull the US out of the Paris Climate Agreement, which signals his tough decisions on the environment.
It is worth noting that Zeldin is the third person to be nominated by Trump in the Cabinet, before this Chief of Staff Susie Wills and UN Permanent Representative Elise Stefanik have also been nominated.
