Mela. Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his wife Sonal Shah, and son Jay Shah, he took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam—the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. Following the ritual bath, Shah performed an aarti ceremony at the sacred site.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, which commenced on January 13, 2025, is a significant Hindu pilgrimage held every 144 years during a special celestial alignment. This year’s event has already attracted over 110 million pilgrims and is expected to draw more than 450 million visitors by its conclusion on February 26.
In a message shared on social media prior to his visit, Shah described the Maha Kumbh as “a unique symbol of the continuous flow of Sanatan culture” and expressed his eagerness to receive blessings from saints at this “great festival of unity and integrity.”
