Ayodhya, Dec 28: Ayodhya railway station in Uttar Pradesh, which was to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, has been renamed and will now be known as ‘Ayodhya Dham’ junction.
Reflecting public sentiments under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the name of the newly constructed Ayodhya railway station has been changed to ‘Ayodhya Dham’ Junction, Lallu Singh announced in a post.
The grand railway station, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi, is part of wider preparations for the upcoming grand inauguration of the Ram Temple on January 22, 2024. The railway station is equipped with lifts, a tourist information centre, medical facilities. , and other modern amenities.

The ongoing revamp of the Ayodhya railway station includes refurbished platforms, new signboards, escalators and murals depicting Lord Ram on the walls. The station has been designed with both mythological significance and modern amenities, resembling a grand temple from the outside.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is actively reviewing the preparations for the inauguration ceremony of Ayodhya Ram temple. The airport and railway station, which have been completed in the first phase, are scheduled to be inaugurated on December 30. The administration is estimating a daily influx of around 50,000-55,000 people into Ayodhya after January 22, leading to extensive preparations being made for the event. Ayodhya Commissioner Gaurav Dayal stressed the ongoing efforts to meet the expected increase in visitors.
