In a heartfelt gesture, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has initiated a special distribution of Ganga water to devotees who were unable to attend the recently concluded Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. This initiative aims to bring the sacred experience to those who missed the event, allowing them to partake in the spiritual essence of the Ganges from their homes.
The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, which commenced on January 13 and concluded on February 26, witnessed an unprecedented footfall of over 66 crore (660 million) devotees. The event is celebrated as one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, drawing participants from across the globe.
To ensure the sacred Ganga water reaches devotees statewide, fire tenders deployed at the Maha Kumbh have been instructed to carry the holy water back to their respective districts. This distribution is set to commence promptly, ensuring that devotees can receive the sanctified water without delay.
This initiative reflects the Chief Minister’s commitment to honoring the spiritual sentiments of those unable to attend the Maha Kumbh, ensuring they too can partake in the sanctity of the Ganges in their own homes.
In addition to this distribution effort, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in Ganga Puja and a cleanliness drive at Arail Ghat following the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh. These activities underscore the importance of maintaining the sanctity and cleanliness of the revered river.
