All the ministers of the Delhi government have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to intervene on the water crisis so that this water crisis can be removed. On Monday, all the ministers of the Delhi government held a meeting at the hunger strike site of Atishi. All have demanded that Delhi be given their rightful water. All the ministers decided to send their signed letter to the Prime Minister, so that the Prime Minister can intervene in this matter and remove the water crisis.
It was also proposed in this meeting that all the ministers of the Delhi government along with the LG would make a joint visit to the Wazirabad Barrage to clarify the situation before everyone.
About this meeting, Aam Aadmi Party leader and minister Gopal Rai said that this important meeting was held on Monday at Atishi’s hunger strike site and during this it was discussed that the water that Delhi was getting 30 years ago is the same. Water is still available after 30 years, now the population of Delhi has become more than 3 times than before.
According to Minister Gopal Rai, 1000 MGD of water was decided to be given to Delhi 30 years ago and still almost the same water is being provided. In summer when the demand for water increases, it is also reduced. Due to less water supply of 100 mgd per day, the people of Delhi are getting less water by about 46 crore liters, due to which about 28 lakh people of Delhi are thirsty for water.
Gopal Rai accused the Prime Minister and said that the Prime Minister is completely silent on Delhi’s water crisis. Both center and Haryana have double engine government, but still they are not making any kind of intervention to solve it.
Gopal Rai said that Aam Aadmi Party government ministers have met and interacted with all the people including Union Water Minister, LG etc. But there is no solution to the water crisis yet.
Gopal Rai said that two important agendas were placed in today’s meeting and discussed. According to him, a letter has been written in the name of the Prime Minister and signed by the ministers of Delhi and this letter is being sent to the Prime Minister, so that he can help the Delhi government to overcome this water crisis.
On the second proposal, Gopal Rai said that the LG of Delhi should visit the Wazirabad bridge and Munak canal together with all the ministers and officials of the Delhi government. This will make it clear whether the Haryana government is doing what it is saying or not. How much water has arrived from Haryana and how much water has arrived, its register is continuously maintained, it can also be checked.
