Doda is one of the densely forested hill districts of Jammu division and it is believed that guerrilla warfare is being practiced here by the militants.
Recently, the Ministry of Defense and Home Affairs decided in a high-level security review meeting to deploy the Army and CRPF in the densely forested hilly areas of Jammu division to deal with terrorist activities.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Mallikarjun Kharge have expressed grief on social media platform X over the news of the martyrdom of four soldiers, including an army officer, in an encounter with terrorists in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir.

On social media platform X, Kharge wrote that, I am extremely saddened by the martyrdom of four brave army soldiers, including an officer, in the terrorist encounter in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. Our condolences to the families of our brave soldiers who have sacrificed their lives in the service of Mother India. We express our condolences to the injured and pray for their speedy recovery. He questioned the central government in this matter and said that, in view of the terrorist attacks that have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir in the last 36 days, our Security strategies need to be carefully modified. The Modi government is acting as if everything is normal and nothing has changed. They should know that Jammu region is bearing the brunt of these attacks. We cannot jeopardize our national security with false rhetoric, false boasting and noise. We must collectively fight as a nation against cross-border terrorism. Indian National Congress stands strong with our brave armed forces.
At the same time, Priyanka said that the entire country is saddened by the martyrdom of 4 jawans in Jammu and Kashmir and stands united against terrorism. However, the continuous increase in terrorist attacks is raising serious questions. There have been 11 terrorist attacks in the last 78 days in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 13 army and police personnel were martyred. A passenger bus was attacked on June 9, in which 9 pilgrims were killed. Further, he questioned the central government and said that the government is taking measures on the diplomatic-strategic front to prevent these attacks and the martyrdom of our soldiers. Fake claims of ending terrorism are being made on the pretext of demonetisation and abrogation of Article 370, for which the soldiers of our country are paying a heavy price with their lives. How long will we count the bodies of our martyrs?
