New Delhi, November 20 (UITV)- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded the highest civilian honors by many countries for his impressive leadership and his vision for India globally. Recently, Guyana and Barbados have announced that they will honor Prime Minister Modi with their respective highest national honors. With this honor, the total number of international awards received by Prime Minister Modi will go up to 19, which reflects his leadership and India’s growing prestige on the global stage.
Guyana has decided to honor Prime Minister Modi with “The Order of Excellence”. This honor is given to those individuals who have played a significant role in establishing and contributing to strong relations with the country. At the same time, Barbados has decided to confer “Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados” to Prime Minister Modi. This honor recognizes his commitment to further strengthen India’s historical and friendly relations with Barbados.
Prime Minister Modi was warmly welcomed in Guyana. He met members of the Indian community at a hotel in Georgetown who greeted him. PM Modi thanked Guyana President Dr Irfaan Ali and Prime Minister Mark Anthony Phillips for the grand welcome on his official social media handle “X”.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi completed his visit to Nigeria, where he was conferred with Nigeria’s highest national honour “Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger” (GCON). Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu conferred the honour. He praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and his contribution to strengthening India-Nigeria relations.
President Tinubu said, “You represent commitment and stability to democratic values. Your leadership and victory in three consecutive elections in a complex society is a historic achievement. Nigeria is inspired by your leadership and wants to further deepen its relations with India.”
It is a matter of pride that Prime Minister Modi is the second foreign dignitary to receive the GCON. Earlier this honour was given to Queen Elizabeth II in 1969.
Dominica has also announced to honour Prime Minister Modi with the “Dominica Award of Honour” in recognition of India’s cooperation and commitment during the COVID-19 pandemic. This honour will be presented by Dominica President Sylvanie Berton during the India-CARICOM summit in Guyana.
These honours received by Prime Minister Modi are a symbol of his leadership, India’s global diplomacy, and his foresight.
