IndiGo Airlines started direct flights from Chennai to Jaffna in the northern province of Sri Lanka. Earlier these flights were only for Colombo.
This flight is the 34th international flight and 122nd destination in the airlines’ rapidly growing network.
On the launch of the flight between Chennai and Jaffna, the leading aviation company said that the start of direct flight between Chennai and Jaffna will strengthen the cultural and business relations between India and Sri Lanka.
IndiGo’s Global Sales Head Vinay Malhotra said that the new daily direct flight starting from Chennai to Jaffna will reach its destination in just 75 minutes. The start of this flight between India and Sri Lanka will give a further boost to business and tourism.
It will take off from Chennai at 13:55 and reach Jaffna at 15:10. It will take off from Jaffna at 15:55 and reach Chennai at 17:10.
IndiGo said that IndiGo Airlines’ direct flight between Chennai and Jaffna will provide seamless connectivity, which is likely to open up a new market for tourism.
