Niti Aayog has been restructured by the central government. Several senior ministers from allied parties have been given place in the commission. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will remain the chairman of NITI Aayog. There has been no change in the post of Vice-Chairman and Whole Time Members. The vice-chairman is Suman K. Berry and Dr. V. K. Saraswat, Prof. Ramesh Chandra, Dr. V. K. Paul, Arvind Veermani are among the full-time members.
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan is among the new ex-officio members, last time former Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was among the ex-officio members. Among the special invitees are Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Heavy Industries Minister HD Kumaraswamy. Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan and Civil Aviation Minister K.R. Naidu is also among the special invitees.
Piyush Goyal and Ashwini Vaishnav were also among the special invitees last time. But, these two have not been included this time. All the senior ministers of the allied parties have been replaced in his place this time.
In the NDA government, Manjhi (Hindustan Awam Morcha-S), Kumaraswamy (JD-S), Paswan (LJP-Ram Vilas) and Rajiv Ranjan Singh (JD-U) are allies of the BJP. Prime Minister Modi approved the revised constitution of the National Institute for Transformation of India (Niti Aayog). Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman are among its ex-officio members. It is significant that NITI Aayog acts as a think tank. It prepares plans with the states for the development of the nation.
