New Delhi, July 31 (UITV)- On Wednesday, Congress and its allies MPs created a ruckus and raised slogans in the Lok Sabha to conduct caste census.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla tried to conduct the proceedings of the Question Hour amid the uproar of the opposition MPs, but when the MPs of the opposition parties came to the well and waved placards and created a ruckus and raised slogans, the proceedings of the House were adjourned by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla till 12 noon.
The proceedings of the Lok Sabha started at 11 am. On behalf of the House, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla first congratulated Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh, who created history by winning bronze medals in the Paris Olympics 2024. After this, the Lok Sabha Speaker started the proceedings of the Question Hour. But, the MPs of the Congress and its allies started creating ruckus and raising slogans over the demand for caste census.
The opposition MPs also came to the well raising slogans. The MPs of the opposition parties continued sloganeering against the government, demanding caste census and also demanding an apology.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, raising questions on the uproar of the opposition MPs, said that Rahul Gandhi and Congress keep talking about caste morning and evening and want to raise questions when caste is asked here. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju accused the Congress of insulting the army, trying to spread violence and anarchy in the country, weakening democracy, etc. and said that the activities of this House move forward only by rules. This House will run only by rules.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla reprimanded the opposition MPs for creating planned obstruction in the House and said that it was decided in the BAC meeting that no one would wave placards in the House. This is unfair and wrong. The opposition has no issue and they want to disrupt the proceedings of the House in a planned manner. Saying this, he adjourned the proceedings of the House till 12 o’clock.
