Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently emphasized the immense potential of Uttarakhand as a premier destination for weddings and film shoots. During his visit to Harsil in Uttarakhand, he highlighted the state’s diverse landscapes and spiritual ambiance, encouraging people to choose Uttarakhand over foreign locations for such events.
In his address, PM Modi urged the nation to embrace the concept of “Wed in India,” specifically advocating for Uttarakhand as an ideal wedding destination. He pointed out that the state offers unparalleled natural beauty and cultural richness, making it a perfect backdrop for memorable weddings and cinematic projects.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of promoting year-round tourism in Uttarakhand, stating that the state should eliminate the notion of an “off-season.” He invited filmmakers and content creators to explore Uttarakhand’s picturesque locations for their projects, noting that the state has been recognized as the ‘Most Film-Friendly State.’
To further bolster Uttarakhand’s appeal as a wedding destination, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a virtual meeting with over 75 leading wedding planners from North India. He assured them of the state’s commitment to providing necessary support and infrastructure to facilitate grand weddings amidst the state’s scenic beauty.
By promoting Uttarakhand for destination weddings and film shoots, the government aims to boost the local economy, generate employment opportunities, and showcase the state’s unique cultural and natural heritage to a broader audience.
