Kochi, January 3: On January 3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Thrissur city of Kerala. Prime Minister Modi will participate in a road show. Prime Minister Modi will also address a gathering of women during his visit to Kerala. This program is being organized as a thanksgiving gesture for the passing of the Women’s Reservation Bill.
The BJP is hoping to win the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat in Kerala. Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Thrissur city of Kerala on January 3 is expected to mark the beginning of the party’s Lok Sabha election campaign in the state.
BJP may field actor Suresh Gopi from Thrissur constituency. Posters of actor Suresh Gopi have also surfaced in the city ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s visit, this poster shows actor Suresh Gopi as the BJP candidate from Thrissur.
Actor Suresh Gopi had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and 2021 Assembly elections from Thrissur constituency, but he had to face defeat in both of them.
When asked about Modi’s Thrissur tour, BJP considers Thrissur as the best bet for victory in Kerala, is that why Modi ji is going on Thrissur tour? On this, State BJP President K. Surendran replied that Prime Minister Modi has already visited the state capital Kozhikode and Kochi and now he will also visit Thrissur.
During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led NDA had contested all 20 seats. Out of which, in Thiruvananthapuram, BJP had secured second position, while in the remaining seats across the state, BJP had secured third position.
The BJP has so far won only one assembly seat in the coastal state in the 2016 assembly elections, but it lost this seat again during the 2021 assembly elections.
