New Delhi, July 27 (UITV)- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Ladakh on the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas and pay tribute to the brave at the war memorial. Today the country is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, which reminds us of India’s victory and the sacrifices of the soldiers who fought bravely for this victory.
According to the PMO, on July 26 at around 9:20 am, PM Narendra Modi will visit the Kargil War Memorial on the occasion of the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas and pay tribute to the heroes martyred in this war.
It is worth mentioning that Kargil Vijay Diwas is an important day in India. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 26 July to commemorate the victory of the Indian Army in the Kargil War in 1999.
The Kargil War started in May 1999 due to the occupation of parts of Kargil district by the Pakistani Army in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. In this war, the Indian Army fought a long and difficult battle against the Pakistani Army. Many officers and soldiers sacrificed their lives in this war.
The Indian Army recaptured the peaks of Kargil on 26 July 1999, after which the Pakistani Army surrendered. After this victory, the Government of India announced to celebrate 26 July as Kargil Vijay Diwas.
In India, various ceremonies are organized on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas to pay tribute to the martyrs and on this day the bravery of the braves who were martyred in the Kargil War is remembered.
