New Delhi, December 28 (UITV)- The last journey of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh started from the Congress headquarters amid slogans like “Jab Tak Suraj Chand Rahega, Manmohan Singh Ka Naam Rahega”. After his demise, his supporters and Congress workers organized this journey to pay tribute to him. This journey was organized as a way to honor his contribution and influence in Indian politics.
On Saturday morning, officials of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force carried the mortal remains of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to the Congress headquarters. During this, his wife Gursharan Kaur and senior Congress leaders were present there. Indian Army officials honored Dr. Manmohan Singh by carrying his mortal remains. On this occasion, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge paid tribute to Manmohan Singh by offering the flag of the Indian National Congress on his mortal remains.
After this, the mortal remains of the former Prime Minister were placed in an army vehicle and his last journey began. The vehicle also carried Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, his family members and other senior leaders. The funeral procession proceeded from the Congress headquarters towards Nigambodh Ghat, where his last rites were to be performed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the funeral.
His wife Gursharan Kaur also came to pay tribute to the former Prime Minister at the Congress headquarters. After this, many senior Congress leaders and workers reached there and paid tribute to Dr. Manmohan Singh. Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Ashok Gehlot, DK Shivakumar, KC Venugopal, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and other senior party leaders also paid their tributes. A huge crowd of Congress workers gathered outside the Congress headquarters, who joined the procession with the mortal remains of Dr. Manmohan Singh to honor his contribution.

Officers of the three armed forces placed the mortal remains of the former Prime Minister on a decorated vehicle with full dignity, which was decorated with flowers. The yatra was held in an extremely emotional and respectful atmosphere. Congress workers and supporters followed the body of their leader paying tribute to him. Raising slogans like “Manmohan Singh Amar Rahe”, people remembered his contributions and the work he did.
