Mumbai, 26 December (UITV)- Sharad Pawar faction (NCP) suffered a crushing defeat in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, after which the party has called an important meeting on 8 and 9 January. The main objective of this meeting is to discuss the situation after the results of the assembly elections and determine the party’s upcoming strategies. Sharad Pawar and other senior leaders of the party will participate in this meeting.
On January 8, NCP has called a meeting of all cells, MLAs, MPs and department heads. At the same time, the district and city presidents of the party have also been invited to the meeting on January 9. In this meeting, strengthening the party’s organization at the local level, upcoming election preparations and the party’s position in the state will be discussed.
After the results of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, there has been an upheaval in the politics of the state and meanwhile all the parties have become active for the upcoming civic elections. This meeting of NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) is considered important because after the defeat in the assembly elections, the party needs to consider its position and future strategy.
After the results of the Maharashtra assembly elections, the leaders of the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance have alleged EVM tampering, which has created a stir in the politics of the state. NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MP Supriya Sule has given her reaction on this issue. She said, “I think it is not right to make such allegations until I have any concrete evidence. I have won four elections with the same EVM.” This statement is being seen as a logical answer given by her.
It is worth noting that the ‘Mahayuti’ alliance had won a huge majority in the Maharashtra assembly elections. BJP, which is part of the Mahayuti, got 132 seats, while Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde won 57 seats, while NCP led by Ajit Pawar won 41 seats. On the other hand, Congress got 16 seats in the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance, while NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) got 10 seats. Apart from this, Shiv Sena Uddhav faction managed to win 20 seats.
After this result, NCP will have to take many steps to strengthen its position and the meeting of Sharad Pawar faction indicates that the party is serious about reactivating its organization and preparing for the next elections.
