Romanian President Klaus Iohannis has enacted new regulations that strengthen advertising restrictions on e-cigarettes, including vape devices and heated tobacco products.
The updated legislation, reported by Xinhua news agency, expands the existing bans on explicit advertising of tobacco products to include e-cigarettes, vape devices, heated tobacco devices, inhalation products without burning from tobacco substitutes, and nicotine pouches for oral use.
Under the new law, explicit advertising for these products is now prohibited on radio and television broadcasts, as well as on public transportation tickets.
Additionally, the legislation bans advertising for these products within educational and healthcare institutions or within 200 meters of their entrances. It also restricts advertising in publications aimed primarily at minors and in theatres before, during, and after performances intended for children.
