Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), Aug 11 The Commonwealth Youth Games ended on a positive note for India as a silver and two bronze medals in athletics on the final day helped India finish 17th in the medals tally of the eight-day event.
Asha Kiran Barla won the silver medal in the 800m while Pooja won the bronze medal in the high jump while Arjun finished third in the javelin throw on Thursday, 10 August, the final day of the Commonwealth Youth Games competition.
Earlier, on August 7, Shaun Ganguly won a silver medal in individual medley in 400m swim, while Sasi Anupriya won bronze in girls’ shot put.
In the girls’ 800m race, Asha Kiran Barla finished second with a timing of 2:04.99, while England’s Phoebe Gill took the first place, clocking 2:02.30.
In the javelin throw, Arjun distance of 65.94 and finished third with an in the first of his six attempts. In the girls’ high jump, India’s Pooja finished third with a jump of 1.75m.
