Budapest, Aug 26: Neeraj Chopra, also the reigning Olympic champion, has started his World Athletics Championship 2023 on a high note.
Neeraj Chopra has confirmed his place in the final of the World Athletics Championships 2023, he achieved this feat in the very first attempt of his throw, in which he threw a very long javelin of 88.77 meters.
With this, Indian star javelin thrower Neeraj finished on top of Group A and confirmed his place in the finals.
Along with this, there was no player in his group who even completed the mark of 83 meters for qualification, thrower Julian Weber of Germany finished 2nd positive, whose best throw was only 82.39 meters. Also, India’s Dup Manu, who was on the 3rd positive, had the best throw of 81.31 meters.
Group A and B together had a total of 37 javelin throwers, along with this there was another Indian thrower in Group B named Kishore Jayne.
After this, on 27th August, the qualified players of both groups will compete in the final round of 12 people.
With this win, Neeraj said that I am satisfied with his 1st throw and would concentrate on the finals, and also praised German thrower Julian Weber, as well as the atmosphere and the track.
He said that I would try my best to give my best throw in the finals and I am completely 100% fit now.
