Akshay Kumar expressed strong condemnation of the recent Pahalgam terror attack during a special screening of his film Kesari Chapter 2 in Mumbai on April 26, 2025. Joined by co-star R. Madhavan, Kumar addressed the audience, stating, “Unfortunately, aaj bhi humare sab ke dil mein woh gussa phir se jaga hain. Aap sab log achhi tarah se jaante hain main kis cheez ki baat kar raha hoon. Aaj bhi hum un terrorists ko ek hi baat kehna chahenge jo maine iss film mein kahi hai” .
The audience responded by echoing the dialogue from the film: “F*** you.” The terror attack, which occurred on April 22, 2025, resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, including 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, when terrorists opened fire on tourists in the Baisaran meadow area of Pahalgam .
Kumar had previously expressed his horror on social media, writing, “Horrified to know of the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Sheer evil to kill innocent people like this. Prayers for their families” .
Kesari Chapter 2, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. The film delves into the life of lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, portrayed by Kumar, and his fight for justice following the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre .
