Sydney, January 2: Australian captain Pat Cummins has confirmed the playing eleven for the Sydney Test against Pakistan starting on Wednesday, with no changes made from the previous match. The Sydney Test holds special significance as it marks the departure of Australian opening batsman David Warner, who will retire as the country’s fifth-highest run-scorer in Test cricket.
Despite clinching the series in Melbourne, Cummins said the fast bowling trio of Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood emerged unblemished, leading to no changes to Warner’s team composition for the final Test. If Australia wins the Sydney Test, it will be the first time since the 2013–14 Ashes against England that they have whitewashed a Test series (of three or more matches) with the same XI.

With a 10-day break before facing West Indies in Adelaide and extra time ahead of the New Zealand tour, Cummins expressed confidence in the fast bowlers’ ability to play in every match. He noted the smooth progress of the summer program and the freshness of the bowling trio.
The Australian XI for the Sydney Test includes Pat Cummins (captain), David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood.
