New Delhi, November 12 (UITV)- There were many discussions going on since KL Rahul’s name was not in the retention list of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for IPL 2025. When the Lucknow team was out of the tournament last season, a video of Rahul and team owner Sanjiv Goenka went viral, in which Goenka was seen angry.
Since the release of this video, there were speculations that Rahul was released due to bad relations between him and the team management, but now KL Rahul himself has broken his silence on this issue and spoken openly.
KL Rahul, while giving information about his new beginning, said, “I wanted to make a new beginning. I wanted to go to a place where I get the opportunity to play with complete freedom. The atmosphere of the team will also be different and sometimes such changes are needed, which make you happy and you feel good. I felt that this is the time when I want to do something new.” Rahul also told that he was out of the Indian T20 team for a long time and now he hopes for his comeback.
KL Rahul last played a T20 match for the Indian team in November 2022 and since then he has been out of the team. Rahul has seen the upcoming IPL as an opportunity to improve his game and return to India’s T20 team. He said, “I know where I stand as a player and what I have to do to make a comeback. I see this IPL season as a platform where I can enjoy my game and move towards achieving my goal. My goal is to return to India’s T20 team.”
Rahul captained Lucknow Super Giants for three consecutive years from 2022 and led the team to the playoffs twice. However, the team finished seventh in IPL 2024. After this, an angry video of team owner Sanjiv Goenka went viral, which was on Rahul. The video of team owner Sanjiv Goenka lashing out at Rahul came after the huge defeat against SRH. Currently, Rahul is focusing on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where in the absence of Rohit Sharma, he may get a chance to open with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first Test.
