The final match of IPL 2024 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Kolkata Knight Riders beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in a one-sided final to become the IPL champions for the third time. Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad were reduced to just 113 in 18.3 overs. The Sunrisers Hyderabad team could not last long against the KKR bowlers. Kolkata Knight Riders easily achieved the target of 114 runs at the loss of 2 wickets in just 10.3 overs.
As usual, Sunil Narine did not perform well in batting against Sunrisers Hyderabad. But Venkatesh Iyer scored a brilliant half-century of 52 runs for KKR, in which he hit 3 sixes and 4 fours. At the same time, Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 39 runs in 32 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 5 fours for KKR. After 10 years, KKR became the IPL champion.

In the powerplay overs, the pair of Gurbaz and Iyer took the team’s score to 72 runs for one wicket.
